Thumbnail Studio Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 September 2026

Thumbnail Studio is an Android image and thumbnail editor published by Naughty Bear Labs. This policy applies to the Android application com.naughtybearlabs.thumbnailstudio.

Editing data stays on your device

Images you import, text, layers, drawings, styles, project files and drafts are processed locally in the app. The editor stores its latest draft and saved style presets in local app storage; a draft may include embedded image data. We do not operate an app backend and do not upload your images, designs or project drafts to Naughty Bear Labs servers.

Clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app removes the local copy. Files you export remain wherever you choose to save them. Android's document picker may offer device or cloud storage providers. If you choose one, that provider receives or supplies the file under its own privacy policy; Thumbnail Studio receives access only to the file you select and does not automatically sync it.

Advertising

Thumbnail Studio contains advertising provided by Google AdMob. Google's Mobile Ads SDK may automatically collect and share your device IP address, which can be used to estimate general location; app and ad interactions such as launches, taps and video views; diagnostics and performance information; and device or account identifiers such as Android Advertising ID and App Set ID. Google uses this information for advertising, analytics, fraud prevention and measurement. Google says this SDK data is encrypted in transit.

Where required, Google's User Messaging Platform asks for your privacy choices before ads are requested. You can accept, reject or manage the choices shown for your region. Where Google requires it, the app provides a privacy options entry point so you can revisit those choices. Ads may be personalised, non-personalised or limited according to your choice, region and device settings. The editor remains available when you decline optional consent or are offline.

Google handles the information collected by its advertising services under its own policies. See Google's AdMob data disclosure and How Google uses information from apps that use its services.

Optional Remove ads purchase

Thumbnail Studio offers a one-time Remove ads purchase through Google Play. Google handles the payment and keeps payment information with your Google Account; we do not receive your card number or bank details. The app receives purchase information such as the product identifier, purchase token, signed purchase data and purchase state to verify and acknowledge the purchase and restore access.

The verified purchase entitlement and the information needed to restore it are stored locally on your device. They are not sent to an app backend and are not used for advertising. The app checks Google Play again when it resumes so that a refund or change in ownership can be recognized. A pending purchase does not remove ads until Google Play reports that it is complete. Clearing app storage removes the local receipt or entitlement record, but does not cancel the Google Play purchase; use the app's restore option with the same Google Play account after reinstalling. See Google's privacy policy.

Permissions and external providers

Thumbnail Studio uses Android's document picker when you choose an image or project to import, or a destination for an export. The app does not request an account, contacts, precise location, camera, microphone or health permissions. It does not read your clipboard. Opening a file provider or another external destination is governed by that service's own policies.

Audience

Thumbnail Studio is a general-purpose creative utility intended for people aged 13 and above. It is not directed to children under 13.
